If you are planning a visit to NW Washington, or live in this area and just want a fun activity, this is a list of popular things to do in the Seattle area.
These things to do in the Seattle area are of interest to all ages. They vary in cost and degrees or physical activity. All of these activities are well worth your time.
  • Pike Place Market
    Located near the waterfront, just south of Seattle downtown city center, Pike Place Market is an open market and a great place to visit while in Seattle. It fills an entire city block. Pike Place Market has a collage of interesting shops and eateries, a lively fresh fish market, beautiful flowers and art displays, uniquely painted pig statues (on display though out the area), and all alongside a historical red brick road (brought here from San Francisco.)
    Requires easy walking. No cost to window shop.
  • Food Tours
    Try a fun and informative Chocolate Tour or a delectable Food/Wine Tour that will help you get to know the Seattle area and its history. Walk through Pike Place Market or Belltown on a two-and-a-half-hour walking tour. Taste Seattle's fine food, desserts, and local wines. These Seattle tours are guided by local experts.
  • Seattle Underground Tour
    Tour under the city of Seattle. Unlike any other tour you've experienced. This fun, informative, and quite often humorous, historical tour of Seattle is well worth your time.
  • Dinner Train to Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery
    Dine in luxury while you view the beautiful scenery of Seattle. It's called "The Spirit of Washington Dinner Train" and it is a unique round-trip excursion that takes you from Renton to Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville, WA. Chateau Ste. Michelle is the largest single producer of Riesling wine in the United States.

  • Blue Ribbon Cooking Class
    Located on the east side of Lake Union, this is a fun 3-hour class where you make a gourmet meal and then eat together at the end. The class is fun, informative, and worth the price. There are also summer classes for children. When looking for something to do in the Seattle area, Blue Ribbon Cooking Class is an excellent activity for a group of friends who want something interesting and creative.
